Tubing along the Salt River, Arizona (A Tale of Woes)

I recently moved my family from Berlin, Germany to Mesa, Arizona, where we will reside for the next year, while my wife has our 4th child in the midst of my extended family.

15 minutes from our rental house is the Tonto National "Forest", which is wishful thinking, because it is yet another man-made desert. The area is popular for its cool Salt River, which is fresh, not salty. We headed over there on a hot Sunday morning, to escape the 111°F (44°C) heat, and experienced the beauty of the desert landscape, along with some of the worst examples of degenerate American society.

The pictures probably look pleasant enough, and the reality of it would have been too, if we were back in the 1950's, or in some foreign land. But, here is some of what we experienced, which you might find hard to believe.

  • More than once, groups of tubers floated past those of us on the beach, while shouting: "show us your tits!"
  • Some college "students" showed up, and with complete disregard for my wife and three young daughters, turned up their boom box to the max, and started playing a song about vaginas and all their intricacies. We just about made it to the car before that one finished, but not before my oldest daughter and I caught an earful of the next song, which was just as bad.
  • We ran into my brother-in-law and my sister while we were there, who had tubed down the river the day before, and they think they saw a dead man. He had gotten drunk and had passed out, and was cooking in the 111°F heat, while his buddies were slapping him and trying to wake him up.
  • And to add insult to injury, the whole situation was under heavy surveillance by the Arizona highway patrol, who harass the populace with spontaneous taxes in the form of citations of one kind or another,  similar to how the California State government partially funds itself through raids and parking tickets. I worked with a Pakistani last year, who immigrated his family from Pakistan to Germany for that very reason, to escape those spontaneous taxes, which are all merely federalized, institutionalized versions of traditional highway robbery.

This naturally leads into whether I should wrap up this short little essay with a conclusion or anecdote of some sort, or a moral debate on whether America can or should be saved, or whether those "students" should have been confronted, even though it seemed like they represented the majority, and whether my "legislating my morality onto them" would have done any good, or started an uncivil war. And in fact, without such a conclusion, why would I even blog about it all?

The fact is, I believe Sodom and Gomorrah should have their right to free expression. I think it is fundamental to having a free will, and living in a free society. If not for the freedom of expression granted to the white trash that I post about in this blog, what good and bad examples would the rest of the world have, in order to judge the matter by?

What is at the heart of the matter is the need to separate myself from these people, until I get myself and my family into the midst of our own kind, whom I might have a thing or two in common with. For example, I love liberty, morality, dignified behavior, fairness, and honesty in Govern-Mint (honest governing, and honest minting of the money), most of which has died in this land. And, I have no use for sports, kickbacks, cruel state-administered welfare, casinos, economic bubbles, wooden-plastic firetrap houses, Harry Potter, Paris Hilton, federal terrorists, tax collectors, insurance, and all else that is associated with the evil empire.

If I had my way, at least a small percentage of the world's citizens would fill out a Survey of Values, which contains no right or wrong answers, but which we would simply use as a tool for organizing ourselves into groups of likemindedness, worldwide, until there is peace.

Sadly, I would agree with

Sadly, I would agree with you 100%. The police in california are essentially pimps for the state. I've known people that have gotten parking tickets for having literally one inch of their car parked in the red and have gotten tickets for parking in a 15 min zone for 13 minutes (yea I was timing it for that exact reason). It's ridiculous
